Award-winning luxe holiday hut goes on sale
After claiming multiple national awards, a luxury British beach hut that has enjoyed being fully booked each summer is now available to buy.
Bidding for the coveted beachside abode, which boasts a luxury interior with underfloor heating, is expected to begin with a starting price of £160,000. Described by critics as the “best beach hut” in the world, the former holiday home is the only accommodation of its kind to attain a five-star rating from Visit England.
The hut, based in Somerset’s Dunster, rose to fame following a major transformation after it was purchased by Brett Banes in 2015 and named “Salad Days”. The opulent option for vacations has been enhanced with more than just underfloor warmth – it’s home to a fully fitted kitchen with a fridge, cooker and dishwasher, a king-sized bed and its own ensuite shower room.
A luxurious lounge is fitted with its own dedicated dining area, while gardens are placed at both the front and back, complete with sun loungers and seating to appreciate the views of Dunster Beach. Those looking to explore the stunning Somerset coastline will also find bike racks outside, perfect for storing their rides.
Bates said that within a matter of hours of listing, the hut had attracted a wealth of interest, and he added that from buying to selling the property, the endeavour had been a real journey. The hut has won Dog-Friendly Business of the Year and South West England’s Self-Catering Business of the Year, to name but two of its titles.
